Stevensons Electrical Contractors was founded in 1971 by John Stevenson. To compliment the electrical contracting side of the business, John opened up J.R. Stevensons, a family run shop, in Shepshed, as the hub for the centre of the company. The shop sold all the electrical items you could need, from batteries to lamps, with knowledgable staff, who were always willing to help you. The shop and company became well known across the town.

John's son, Craig was born in 1971, and grew up surrounded by electricians. So, when he went to college at the age of 16, he studied to become an electrician himself. Craig joined the outstanding team at Stevensons Electrical Contractors as an apprentice, and continued working there after he qualified. Craig took over the company when his father retired.

Craig has been running the company since 2006. He has modernised the company and made it his own, without swaying from the original, well known family atmosphere.
